Everyone comes into this world having pain, struggles, and sin in their life.  John 3:16 tell us that God sent His only Son, Jesus, to die for us.  If we believe and call on His name, He will save us from our sin and we'll live eternally with Him.  Below are short stories from people who believed and asked Jesus to be their Lord...
"I was born in church so from the earliest age I knew all the basics of church. As I was grew older I knew that I wasn't saved but I always thought...I could do that later. I'd just learn all of the answers and be good enough to be that "good christian girl" everyone thought me to be. I really struggled with wanting to be perfect and have everything under control all the time, but I still struggled. I made a lot of mistakes and did things I wasn't proud of.
I went on an FCA leadership retreat (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and we got to talking about salvation and baptism.  That is when it really hit me!  I wasn't saved and I had put it off thinking I could earn it by just being perfect.  Unfortunately, I am not perfect by along shot and that is WHY I needed a Savior. In February 2009, a speaker named Brady Weldon came and spoke for a crusade at church.  That night, my best friend  told me she wanted to be saved and she accepted Christ as her personal Savior.  After that night, God really starting pulling at my heart saying, "My child, why are you continuing to run from me time and time again?" The next night I stopped running and I gave my life to Christ. After accepting Christ, my life has definitely changed. I have stopped trying to be perfect and have tried to accept that I am human. I will make mistakes and that is WHY I need my Savior each and every day."

At the age of 11,  I attended a revival service at Ardmore Baptist Church.  The Evangelist talked how we all have sinned and that the wages of sin is death.  I knew that I had sinned and that I deserved to die for those sins.  But, he said that Jesus had died on the cross in my place--He had already paid my sin debt.  If I would accept His payment for my sins by asking forgiveness and giving my life to Him, I could have eternal life.
I gave my life to Jesus that night.  I used to have a terrible temper.  He replaced that with a love for other people--His love reflected through me.  As I look back, I can see how He led me into my profession (nursing), led me to my husband who loves the Lord, blessed me with 3 children who love and serve Him and now my grandchildren are beginning to serve Him too!
He gave us our daughter twice, once at birth and then saved her from cancer at the age of 23 when all odds were against her!
I John I:9 says that if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Lamentations 3:23 says that His mercies are new every morning.  PTL!  "The more that I serve Him, the sweeter He grows".

I grew up in church and as a child I specifically remember that if the church was open we were there. I lived a life as a teenager that was not God honoring, but as an adult I did everything right it seemed.  I enrolled in Bible College and was a youth pastor at a small church in Missouri when I remember very specifically God convicting me.  "Josh you know all ABOUT my Son, but you do not KNOW my Son and therefore I don't know you."  I was a youth pastor, I prayed, I read my Bible, and I witnessed to others.  However, none of these made me a Christian (Ephesians 2:8-9) because I had never really put my faith In Christ.  One day God's conviction was so strong in my life I could not take it anymore and after sitting down with my Pastor and an Evangelist for the first time I had some advice that made sense.  They said, "Josh, go home and pray and simply ask God if you have a relationship with his Son."  So, I did and the answer came back NO.  That night I accepted Christ as my Savior.
John 10:10 says "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."  I have preached several sermons over this one verse but it boils down to this.  Satan wants to make us useless whether we are a Christian or not, but Christ has come to give us a life, and not just an ordinary life but a life that is abundant.  Christ has come to give us a life only He can give.  I would not trade my life in Christ for anything even in the midst of difficult times.
Before I found Christ I was lost, confused, and I lived my life to please only myself.  God has rearranged my priorities.  It is no longer about me but all about Christ.  I recently read this quote from Abraham Kuyper "There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who us Sovereign over all, does not cry, "Mine!"" This is how we should live it is not about us and nothing is ours.
